A Black and Blue Wild Card Weekend

A Black and Blue Wild Card Weekend

What do a panther, a raven, a colt and a cowboy have in common…

They are the teams that made it through the wild card playoff weekend in the NFL. And yes they were infringing on our college sports Saturday again. I will let it slide this time since most college football is over.

The Panthers showed everyone they belonged in the playoffs beating the Cardinals in Charlotte on Saturday. Cam Newton was beaten up pretty badly during the game but swears he will be ready for their next game against another physical QB Russell Wilson and the Seahawks.

The Colts advanced against the Bengals today extending the Bengals losing streak in the post season to 7. The Colts will face another horse next: The Broncos and Peyton.

Detroit needed something going for them…

The Lions lost to the Cowboys after taking the lead early. Their quarterback Stafford was in his hometown but was playing for the wrong team. The Cowboys will take on the Packers in Green Bay next week.

It’s been a good week for the Harbaughs…

No one expected the Ravens to beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Jim Harbaugh was in attendance to support his brother the head coach for the Ravens. Jim recently accepted the head coaching position for University of Michigan after separating from the 49ers. The only thing good about this is The Big Ten will likely be building its dominance more over the next few years. Brother John will take on the daunting task of beating another Michigan product..Tom Brady and the Patriots.

My Homies

Let the conference games begin…

Inner conference games have begun and this is when teams are truly tested as they travel back and forth.

Duke played Boston College in Durham and won extending their winning streak to 13 – 0.

Other ACC games: Virginia beat Miami, Notre Dame beat Georgia Tech, and Louisville beat Wake Forest.

Ohio State beat Illinois after trailing in the first half.

Fresno State delivered a blow to San Diego State over the weekend. Kansas dominated over UNLV and what’s going on with UCLA losing to Utah 71-39?

Shout Out of the Day:

Inspirational ESPN sportscaster Stuart Scott is finally resting. His speech at the ESPY’s made me very emotional and all I can think about now is his daughters. I hope they are finding solace and peace in the fact he lived and fought for them but it was finally his time to rest. My thoughts and prayers to his daughters and love ones.

Thank you for reading! I hope you find time to share, comment and like!
