To the tune of pitchforks…

My Homies

Which devil do you dance with?

The Duke Blue Devils played the Arizona State Sun Devils in the Sun Bowl in El Paso, TX today. This was Duke’s third appearance in a bowl since 2012. Before that they had not been to a bowl since the 90s. This game was full of every trick in the book including a shaky start by Duke QB Boone, a game changing 69 yard touchdown punt return from Jamison Crowder at the end of the first half, a faked punt by Duke’s kicker Monday that lead to a touchdown to start the second half, a 95 yard kick off return to allow the Sun Devils back into the game and finally an interception in the end zone leading to ASU’s win.

A bowl win still evades Duke, but I couldn’t be happier that they continue to make bowl appearances. Congratulations to the 2014 Duke Blue Devils on their season!!

My other alma mater couldn’t do the Hokie pokey…

The Cincinnati Bearcats played the Virginia Tech Hokies in the Military Bowl today. Cincinnati lost quarterbacks and even had a wide receiver taking snaps but Virginia Tech was too much for them. Cincinnati lost to VT 33 -17.

Other bowl room dances…

Penn State won against Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl, South Carolina beat Miami in the Independence Bowl and USC beat Nebraska in the Holiday Bowl.

A bluegrass melody…

Kentucky basketball took on Louisville in Louisville today. I couldn’t help but think of fried chicken and the Hunger games the whole time. Unfortunately, having Jennifer Lawrence in the stands did not make the odds in the Cardinals favor. Kentucky’s defense and amazing rebounding stopped Louisville from a possible win today. Louisville did have their chances though.

This reminds me of high school dances in the gym…

Georgetown beat Indiana in overtime, Gonzaga pulled out a win against BYU, UNC beat UAB, and Ohio State nearly double Wright State’s score.

Show Me the Meaning

You know she got that in Chinatown…

A fake occurs when the offense looks like they are going for one play, like a punt or field goal, and end up either throwing or running the ball instead. It’s really awesome when it works.

The fake during a punt by Duke led to a touchdown for the Blue Devils.

Side note: I find it’s never good for a team to have a celebrity attend their game. They usually end up losing. Maybe they should stop?

Thank you for reading and may the odds be ever in your favor…
